3.3. GMail 2-Step Verification

This is only required for your FPI email account. This is not a mandatory requirement for property-based Compliance accounts or Info accounts (e.g. propertyname.compliance@fpimgt.com or propertyname.info@fpimgt.com).

2-Step Verification adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring you to enter a unique code in addition to your password when you sign in. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your email, even if your password is compromised.

How to Enable 2-Step Verification:

  1. Go to your Google Account:

Open your Gmail account. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner. Select "Google Account."

  1. Navigate to Security:

In the left-hand menu, select "Security."

  1. Turn on 2-Step Verification:

Under "Signing in to Google," find "2-Step Verification" and click "Turn on." Follow the on-screen instructions to choose your preferred verification method. Authenticator App: The most secure option. Download an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator) on your phone. Phone Number: Adding a phone number will allow for a code to be sent via text message to your cell phone. Other Options: Google offers a few other 2-Step Verification methods but the two listed above are what we recommend. If you have already enabled 2-Step Verification, thank you for being ahead of the game. However, please ensure the rest of your team has also enabled it on their email accounts.
