3.1. How To Reset Your GMail Password
1. Go to the Gmail sign-in page:
2. Click "Forgot password?"
- This link is usually located below the password field.
3. Enter your FPI email address.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions:
- Option 1 (Enter the last password you remember for your email account):
- Try the last password you remember.
- If you enter the correct password it will allow you to update it to something else.
- If you can't remember, select "Try another way" and then move to option 2.
- Option 2 (If you have a recovery phone or email):
- You'll be prompted to enter your recovery phone number or email address.
- Google will send a verification code to the chosen method.
- Enter the code, and you'll be able to reset your password.
- If you do not have a recovery number or email address added, then you will need to file a ticket with Desktop Support.
5. Create a new, strong password.
- Choose a unique password that's a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Avoid using easily guessable information like birthdays or pet names.
6. Confirm your new password.
7. Sign in to your Gmail account using your new password.
If you encounter any difficulties during the password reset process, please file a ticket with the HelpDesk Team.
